Ethics and Integrity in Ministry

  • EIM Workshops

Effective Jan. 1, 2019, all EIM Workshop attendees must pre-register/sign up at least 24 hours in advance to attend an EIM workshop. The Workshop Roster will close 24 hours before the Workshop start time.
To find the schedule, and Sign Up for a Workshop (bottom right of your account page), login to you EIM account at eappsdb.com/austin. If you don't recall your User ID/Password, please use the Alternate Login option. If you have never submitted an EIM application (required for employees, and adult volunteers serving in any ministry requiring EIM compliance), use the above link to create your EIM account and complete the application. Contact your parish EIM site administrator (Kathy Helms, khelms64@gmail.com; 512-923-0913) if you need to complete a paper EIM application or need other assistance with EIM compliance matters.

Workshop Notes: 1) plan to arrive promptly as late arrivals may not be admitted 2) children should not be brought to EIM workshops.
If you are a victim of sexual abuse and have concerns regarding your attendance at a workshop, contact the EIM office at (512) 949-2447 to discuss an alternative workshop arrangement.

  • The Catholic Diocese of Austin policies on Ethics and Integrity in Ministry (EIM) require that all clergy, employees and those volunteers who minister to youth or vulnerable adults in the diocese must be EIM compliant.

There are three (3) steps required to become EIM compliant:
    1) submit an EIM application (online or paper copy), which
    2) generates a confidential, criminal background check, and
    3) attend a 2-hour EIM Workshop which teaches participants about boundaries, warning signs, appropriate interactions in our work with minors and vulnerable adults, how to respond to incidents and reviews diocesan EIM policies.

The application is only submitted one time; the background check is automatically rerun every 3 years from the date of your application submission and does not require any additional action on your part. Workshop attendance is required every 3 years after the initial EIM Workshop. Workshops are held several times a year at our parish and throughout the year at other parishes in the diocese.

If you are a victim of sexual abuse and have concerns regarding your attendance at a workshop, contact the diocesan EIM office at (512) 949-2447 or eim@austindiocese.org to discuss an alternative workshop arrangement.
