Parish Social Ministries (PSM) includes a number of ministries of outreach and support to members of the parish and to the broader community. Coordinators assigned to each ministry direct all aspects of these ministries with the help of volunteers assigned to the ministry.
Parish Social Ministry Financial Assistance: Financial services consist of helping families in financial difficulty by paying monthly utility bills, i.e. gas, electric, water. Help is available to anyone living in Round Rock who meets income requirements. Services are provided on Wednesdays from 10:00 am-12:00 pm.
Coordinators: Jim & Joann Benton, psm@sjvroundrock.org.
SJV Household Supply Pantry: The pantry contains items that people cannot get with food stamps and so helps to fill some of the void in our community. The pantry is open on Tuesdays of each week. The items needed for the pantry are: paper towels, toilet paper, shampoo, hair conditioner, body soap, toothpaste, deodorant, laundry detergent, fabric softener, dishwashing detergent and diapers. Parishioners may donate these items each week by putting them in the Parish Social Ministry Pantry barrel in the narthex of the church. Services are provide on Tuesdays from 10:00 am -12:00 pm.
Coordinator: Cynthia LeBlanc, psm@sjvroundrock.org
Due to the impact of COVID-19 and its effects, the Backpack Coalition has decided to withdraw from service to Round Rock ISD and to disband the organization.
SJV has been a member of the Coalition since 2012. Over the years, we have been blessed with wonderful parishioners who generously donated their time, food supplies and funding to cover the costs for children at Caldwell Heights. We hope you know how much you are appreciated. But now that the program has ended, please stop all donations of food or funds designated for the Coalition.
We want to thank everyone for all your wonderful support over the years. Your generosity made this all possible and made an enormous difference in the lives of the children we served.
