AN ACT OF SPIRITUAL COMMUNION
"My Jesus, I believe that you are present in the most Blessed Sacrament. I love You above all things and I desire to receive You into my soul. Since I cannot now receive You sacramentally, come at least spiritually into my heart. I embrace You as if You have already come, and unite myself wholly to You. Never permit me to be separated from You. Amen."
Spiritual Communion
A spiritual communion is made when we fervently desire to receive our Lord Jesus in the Blessed Sacrament but for some reason may not do so. When we receive Spiritual Communion, we desire to be with the Lord; and, because of our desire to be with Him, a Spiritual Communion is as if we had actually done so in the Holy Eucharist.
