Cash - The most common method of making a donation to a capital campaign is to make a pledge, then make cash payments on your pledge using a check or cash. You will have the option to start an automated payment though your financial institution by attaching a voided or canceled check with your pledge. CREDITCARDS You may pay with installments as well as one time gifts by utilizing a credit card. The St. John Vianney business office is able to accept Visa, Master Card and Discover credit cards.
SECURITIES - Stocks, bonds or mutual fund shares that have appreciated can have an immediate impact on our campaign and also create an income tax deduction for you based on their current value. REALESTATE Donations of appreciated homes and other real estate property are entitled to an income tax deduction equal to the full value of the property and no tax on the capital gain. LIFEINSURANCE Donate to the campaign by making St. John Vianney the owner and beneficiary of your insurance policy.
CORPORATE MATCHING GIFTS - A matching gift program provided through your employer or board membership may allow you to increase the value of your gift.
PLANNED GIFTS - Planned giving is the process of carefully selecting the best method and asset for making a charitable gift. Such a gift can enable you to take full advantage of the tax laws to accomplish your financial and charitable goals. Below are a few commonly used ways of making a planned gift:
• Bequest by will or living trust
• Charitable Remainder Trusts
• Charitable Gift Annuities
• Charitable Lead Trusts
• Beneficiary benefits from IRAs, pensions or financial accounts.
Please contact your tax advisor, financial planner or attorney about these options. You may also benefit from such payments with a charitable deduction on your tax return.
In recognition for their support, all parishioners who make a financial pledge to the campaign will be included in a list of donors to be kept in the Parish Activity Center. Parishioners who make a pledge of $1500 or more will be recognized in our new walkway created between the Church and the Parish Activity Center.
